  • Use the Pareto principle, or 80/20. Which 20% of your actions will give me 80% of your results? Do only those. Now, imagine you take it a bit further. Try the 90/10. Even better, try ‘Hell yeah, or no!‘.
  • Before starting a task, ask yourself: is this really important?
  • Never give up, find a way.
  • Ask yourself: which problems can I solve to make the world a better place?

  • Don’t be attached to your thoughts. Unfortunately, most of us have a lot of negative thoughts during the day. But remember this: most of them are useless. So try to observe and catch yourself when you have those. The calmer your mind, the easier it will be.

  • Quality goes hand in hand with simplicity. The more your spread your efforts on different things, the less awesome your products will be. So if you sell 30 different products, cut that down to 5. Make those 5 products the best in the industry. This is what Steve did when he returned to Apple in 1997. Now, ask yourself, how can I hit a home run with this product?
  • Quality goes hand in hand with hiring A+ players. Hire linchpins. Hire people who care deeply about what they are doing. The more A+ players you have on your team, the more other A+ players will be attracted to your business.
  • Quality goes hand in hand with empathy. The more you understand your users, the more you’ll be able to give them exactly what they want. So ask yourself, who is my ideal customer? What does he love? What does he hate? Why will he use my product? How will he use my product? Having a deep understanding of humans desires will help you improve the quality of your products and services.

Steve Jobs’ sayings were often provoking yet inspiring and profound.

That’s why I’ve used ‘Stay hungry, stay foolish’ almost every day since the first time I’ve heard it. I’ve found it helps me move forward and stay a little crazy when things get tough.

And since I’ve used so many of Steve’s quotes over the years, I wanted to present them back to you so you can benefit from them too.

There’s lots of ways to be as a person. And some people express their deep appreciation in different ways. But one of the ways that I believe people express their appreciation to the rest of humanity is to make something wonderful and put it out there. And you never meet the people, you never shake their hands, you never hear their story or tell yours, but somehow, in the act of making something with a great deal of care and love, something is transmitted there.
